Crop producing landscapes
The croplands anthrome level consists of areas with greater than 20% crop cover, have various population densities, and incorporate various agricultural practices. This anthrome level prioritizes food production, producing the second highest percentage of global food calories compared to the other anthrome levels. This anthrome level occupies the fourth highest percentage of global land area while ranking fourth out of the six anthrome levels for protected area and key biodiversity area percentages. Cropland anthromes have a range of population densities, ranking third out of six in global population percentage.
