Deciduous forests in temperate climate
The temperate woodland biome is characterized by deciduous trees and mixed forests, typically found in temperate climates with moderate rainfall. This biome occupies the third smallest percentage of land area, contributing the second smallest percentage to protected area and key biodiversity area. Temperate woodlands contribute the third highest percentage to global food production and fourth highest percentage to carbon storage.
